  Quietly and Happily Wedded
Last evening, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. John Edwards, corner of Eighth street and Fifth avenue south, the marriage of their daughter, Miss Flora A. Edwards, and Dr. John F. Fargo, of Peoria, Ill, took place in the presence of a few relatives and intimate friends of the bride. The occasion was without elaborate display and elegant in its simplicity. The favored few who witnessed the ceremony had gathered in the spacious parlors at 8:30 o’clock when the happy couple took their places and the Rev. Dr. J. H. Tuttle said the words that made them one. The bride, as beautiful as brides ever are, wore a cream brocaded satin, trimmed with point duchesse lace and tea-rose buds. One of the large bay windows of the parlor was beautifully draped with lace, twined with flowers of delicate shade and perfume, making a small alcove from the main portion of the parlor. Within this and beneath a spray of delicate green vine, the couple stood while the ceremony, short and simple and impressive, was performed, while the guests stood about them, almost making a circle. Immediately following the service, a short, informal reception was held, the house being thrown open and tastily prepared for the occasion. The guests present from out of the city were Mr. Irving Fargo, and Mr. and Mrs. Otis Jones, Chicago, and Miss Helen Bowman, La Moille, Ill. Dr. and Mrs. Fargo will remain the the city for the present and possibily permanently.”
