a. Note:   Obituary Record: Saturday afternoon at two o’clock occurred the death of Mrs Sarah Monk, wife of Jacob S. Monk, at her home in Stockwell. Paralysis was the cause of death. She was born in Delaware county, Ohio, March 5, 1830, and was married to Mr Monk on May 8, 1852. She was a devoted wife and kind mother. Mrs Monk was a member of the Methodist Church. The following children survive: Mrs Mary Hudson, of Delphi; Samuel Monk of Des Moines, Ia, James, John and Maurice Monk of Stockwell. The funeral was conducted from the Methodist church in Stockwell, at 10 o’clock this morning. Rev E V Smith officiated and the interment was in the Concord Cemetery.
