Note: Carl and his first wife Janet moved to Pontiac, Michigan about 1942. Carl drove and delivered trucks for Truckaway Corporation. Obituary Notice in Tribune-Star, Terre Haute, Indiana Carl Everett Monk, 90, of Louisville, Ky., and formerly of Graysville died Sunday, March 5, 2006, in Harborside Healthcare Center. He was born Aug. 13, 1915, in Graysville to Thomas Monk and Mary Emmaline Chickendaunce (Chickadonz) Monk. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Tucker Monk; two daughters, Mary Rickard of Pittsboro and Margaret Freitas of Sullivan; five stepchildren, Phyllis Foley, Joe Harris, Deana Wheeler, C.E. Harris and Jeff Harris; four brothers, Walter Monk, Dean Monk, Raymond Monk and Kenneth Monk; two sisters, Pauline Ward and Marjorie Tapley; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Wednesday in Square Oak Cemetery, in Russell Springs, Ky., with the Revs. Black and Mike Smith officiating. Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, assisted with arrangements.
