Notes
a. Note:   In some of the census reports, Seliah's name is spelled as Celia, however, on her tombstone and in the will of Levi, her name is spelled Seliah. Seliah was a Quaker and was disowned by the Quakers for marrying Levi, a Baptist. Seliah was disowned January 29, 1812 at the Mt. Pleasant Monthly Meeting so they must have married the last part of December 1811. Seliah's parents owned land on the Chestnut Creek in Virginia. The Little River, on which Levi lived, emptied into Chestnut Creek. Levi and Seliah migrated to Lawrence County around 1817 as part of a group of people living in the Ashe County-Grayson County area. Seliah's parents also came.
