a. Note:   ge and ancestors of our Wieland line. In the marriage records of Johannes and Eva Katharina in 1846 in Unterweissach, Johannes' parents are Karl Christoph and a Christina Regina Breuninger. Those names also appear on his birth records. The other names that were passed down in various family records refer to John or David as the father. Those are both family names that appear as brothers in the actual records. Other Wielands that appear in the records, and by age would be contemporary with Carl Christoph, and possibly his brothers, are Christian Gottfried, Johann Carl, Christian Ludwig, and Johann Georg Wieland. Certain changes can be found from record to record. The vowels a and e are interchangeble in the early years, so Christiana could also be Christiane. Also first and middle names appear in different order sometimes from birth to marriage records. Also the use of C or K was not firm and changes in the spelling of Karl from generation to generation.
