  Death Occurs Near Isabel
Well-known Citizen Passes Away as the Result of Dropsical Trouble.
  Isabel, IL, November 7, 1910
Gottleib Weiland, a native of Germany, passed away at his home near here at 12:30 o'clock today, death being the result of an attack of dropsy. He had been ill for several weeks and his demise was not unexpected.
Mr. Weiland was born in Germany and emigrated to this country while quite young. He settled in Ohio, where he was first married. He then moved to Clark County and next to Edgar County where he has since resided. His first wife passed away and he was married the second time. His first wife passed away , and he has married the second time, this wife also preceding him in death. Three children are left to mourn their loss.
Owing to the fact that his death occurred just after the noon hour, no definite funeral arangements have been made at this time. It is very probable the obsequies will take place Wednesday morning. (end of article)

The Wuerttemberg Emigration Index has two entries with two birthdates, July 10, 1840, and July 10, 1847. The second entry corresponds to census records and to his birth record in Unterwiessach. Probably a mistake was made on the other entry.
On his marriage record to Amelia A. Smith, he lists his father as John Wieland and his mother as Lizzie Hauserman. We know he is the son of Eva Catharina Ackermann, who was first married to a Hauserman before she married Johannes. That might explain the Hauserman, but not the Lizzie. He also did not come with the rest of the family when they emigrated in 1854, instead he came in 1866 according to his own record in the 1900 census. I wonder who he lived with in Unterwiessach, while his family was in America.
