a. Note:   ews reads: "Mrs. Helen Askew. Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Askew, 69, of 7402 Cortland, former owner of the Lavedale Eat Shop on Factory Street, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Restland Memorial Chapel. Dr. James Hare will conduct serviced. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park. Mrs. Askew, who died Wednesday in a local hospital, had lived in Dallas for 42 years. She attended school in Commerce. A Dallas resident since 1922, Mrs. Askew was secretary to the sales manager at Higginbotham-Bailey-Logan Co. here until 1932. At that time she opened her Factory Street shop and retired in 1963. Mrs. Askew had also owned and operated the Embassy Club, a downtown dallas nightclub during the early 1940s. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Leon Eaves of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. C.E. Crooks of Kaufman; three brothers, Clifford H. Wieland of Dallas, Charles F. Wileand of Terrell and John L. Wilenad of Kaufman; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be W.D. Watson, Lt. Col. Ross Stowers, Clifford Louis Wieland, Charles Franklin Wieland, Raymond Head and Johnny Blankenship."
