Note: e would have a fried chicken dinner. I also remember getting to gather eggs and running them through the special machine that cleaned them and separated them by weight. Nanna always said that after one of our visits to the hen house they wouldn't lay for a week. I also remember when they got indoor plumbing-what a treat-and that no one would ever go into the living room with the formal furniture. It smelled so fresh in the country.
