Notes
a. Note:   n and his property has increased in size and value. He now owns 14 individuals, seems to be divided into three families. In the Civil War, an H.J. Askew served in the 11th Regiment of the Georgia Infantry. Entered as a Private, ended as a Sergeant.
I am not sure if I have all his children correct. The names on the censuses are rather confusing. I have used the 1850, 1860, and 1870 censuses to make this list.
Note:   Mary Helen Haines notes: In 1850 Henry J. Askew of Dooly Co, Georgia owned 3 slaves, a 22 yr. old male, a 17 yr. old female, and a one year old female. In 1860 he has moved to Webster Co. near Presto
