 Occupation given as Hand Loom Weaver.
 Alexander and Elizabeth were living in Dundee February 26, 1855 when a census was taken in the County of Forfar. Alexander's occupation is given as warehouseman. They have 3 boys and 1 girl living, with 2 boys and 1 girl deceased. Note the gap between son, Alexander, born in 1843 and son, George born in 1853! LDS Film.
 Alexander and Elizabeth were living at 119 Hawkhill Road in Dundee in 1857 when son, James Milne Nicoll was born. LDS Film #280429, entry 556.
 Alexander and Elizabeth were living at 46 Meadowside, Dundee in 1881 Census. His occupation given as Messenger.
 They were living at 88 Annfield Road, Dundee when they died in 1882 and 1884. Occupation at time of death given as Janitor.
 David Ross Nicoll was living with them at both residences. From GRO Scotland records of deaths.
 Alexander, Elizabeth, sons John S. Nicoll and David R. Nicoll, along with David's wives, Catherine Downie and Barbara Smith are buried in Balgay Cemetery, Dundee, Scotland. A memorial on their monument makes mention of Aleck, Isobel, George, James, and Peter who died young.
