a. Note:   ay in St. Boniface hospital, was buried Monday at Transcona cemetery.
 Pallbearers were: A. Paul, H. Semans, W. Newman, G. Makarsky, F. D'Arcy and R. Shadursky.
 A native of LaPrior, Que., Mr. St. Marie came west to Transcna [sic] in 1914 and was employed as a toolmaker in the C.N.R. Transcona shops until his retirement in 1934. He was formerly employed at Cheecopee Falls, Mass., as stationary engineer in a cotton mill and later went to Springfield, Mass., where he studied toolmaking and adopted that as his profession.
 Mr. St. Marie was a past president of the Transcona Liberal association and was a keen student of Dominion and provincial politics.
 He is survived by his widow and two sons, Alfred, of Weston, Ont., and Robert, of Transcona; also three grandchildren. [obituary, Winnipeg Tribune, Tuesday, October 16, 1945, page 5]
  The City of Winnipeg reports that Alfred Ste. Marie is buried in plot 6, section 2, of Transcona cemetery. A search of the cemetery 17 June 2001 did not find a gravestone. [DAW 2001]
