Notes
a. Note:   Biography per Desmond Bonnington, letter to Valmae Goodwin dtd. Dec. 19, 1986:
"Gerald .. went to work in the woods when 15. He studied accounting by correspondence and after working in the mills and getting experience in all lumber operations he was employed by the 1915 San Francisco exposition when it was in the planning stage. He was in charge of purchasing all of the lumber for that project. After that he was employed by a firm owning a number of retail yards in the state as manager of the yards in San Jose and Salinas. After service in WWI he went with a large wholesale lumber firm as a salesman. About 1940 he went into the wholesale and brokerage business for himself and was active in that firm (Bonnington Lumber Co.) until just a couple years before his death. In the intervening years he took his son, Brian, and his grandson, Dan, in as partners. Dan is Brian's son. After Brian's death Dan is continuing the business."
