  "Like Francis, Don tried several occupations before settling down as an upholsterer and later an inspector in a Fischer Body Co. automobile plant. During the war he worked for the company building airplane wings. After the war he went into semi-retirement in Pollack Pines, California. In his many jobs he learned a lot about making tools and his last employment (part time) was as a tool and die maker for a lumber company in that area."
