Text:   Services Held for J. W. Grammer on Tuesday Afternoon John Willis Grammer, a resident of the DeWitt community, passed away late Sunday night. Mr. Grammer, who was past 83 years of age, had been in failing health for about a year. He had been engaged in farming for the past 55 years, nine of which were spent in this community. Death took place at his home on the Hank Eakins farm.
  John Willis Grammer was born January 2, 1850 in Pulaski County, Ky., the son of James and Mary Martha Grammer. He was aged 83 years, 7 months and 5 days when called by death. He joined the M. E. Church during his young manhood and was always a sincere church worker and leader.
  He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jane Odell in 1876 and to this union were born nine children. She departed from this life July 15, 1904.
  On October 21, 1907 he was united in marriage with Mary Jane Shipp and to this union two children were born.
  He is survived by his wife and eleven children. They are: Mrs. Emma Satterfield of LeRoy; Mrs. Mattie Polstom of Indianapolis, Ind.; Jesse Grammer of Kavito, Ky., Ben Grammer of LeRoy; Columbus Grammer of Weldon; Mrs. Jannie Hasch, Walker Grammer, Mrs. Josie Sanders and Robert Grammer all of Indianapolis, Ind.; Mrs. Belle Flannigan of Farmer City and Charles Grammer of DeWitt. All, with the exception of Jesse, were able to be here. Thirty-eight grandchildren and forty-eight great-grandchildren are also left to mourn his passing.
  Funeral services were held from the Stensel Funeral Home at 2:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with Rev. L. S. Kidd of Weldon officiating. Mrs. Wayne Fuller, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. G. S. Severson, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." The pallbearers were Clarence Helmick, Roy Hall, Jake Borton, Wm. Borton, Wallace Edmond and Henry Thoma. Burial was made in the Weldon Cemetery.

Text:   Mrs. Emma Satterfeal LE ROY - (PNS) - Mrs Emma Satterfeal, 76, died at 1:55 a. m. Thursday in her home after a short illness.
  The body was taken to the Stensel Funeral home in LeRoy, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. (standard) Saturday. Burial will be in the Gilmore Cemetery west of LeRoy.
  Mrs. Satterfeal was born Sept. 17, 1873, in Russell County, Kentucky, daughter of Willis and Besty Jane Oddle Grammer. She was married to S. H. Satterfeal in Jamestown, Ky.
  Surviving are her husband; three sons, Will and George, both of Farmer City, and Leo of LeRoy; three daughters, Mrs. Sarah Bailey and Mrs. Virginia Bailey, both of LeRoy, and Mrs. Emily Thompson, Bloomington; three brothers, Ben Grammer, LeRoy; Columbus Grammer, Indianapolis, Ind., and Jess Garmmer, Somerset, Ky.; three sisters, Mrs. Janie Hash, Mrs. Mattie Paston and Mrs. Josie Sanders, all of Indianapolis, Ind.; a half brother, Charlie Grammer, Stanford; a half sister, Mrs. Belle Flannagan; stepmother Mrs. Mary Jo Grammer; 34 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
  She was a member of the Methodist church.
