Title: Obituary - Cletus Deters (1931)
Text: Cletus Deters dies July 3 Cletus J. "Clete" Deters, 65, of Teutopolis died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at his home in rural Teutopolis. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Teutopolis, with burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church with a 6 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary and a 7 p.m. parish wake service. Bauer Funeral Home of Teutopolis was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Teutopolis Park District. Mr. Deters was born September 10, 1931, in rural Teutopolis, the son of Henry and Mary (Zerrusen) Deters. He married Joann Bloemer August 24, 1963 in Green Creek. She survives. He was a retired electrician for Eastern Illinois University in Charleston; a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Teutopolis; Holy Name Society, Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council #2874, Teutopolis American Legion Post #914, I.B.E.W. Local #146, and served as a St. Francis Township trustee. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Surviving besides his wife are one son, Douglas of Teutopolis; daughters, Mrs. George (Susan) Wagers of Newport, Michigan and Mrs. Dave (Sharon) Ross of Gurnee; brother, Art of Teutopolis; sisters Mrs. Joe (Luella) Will of Teutopolis, Mrs. Leonard (Rosemary) Greuel and Mrs. Bernard (Dolores) Will, both of Effingham; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Title: Obituary - Henry Deters (1901)
Text: Henry W. Deters, Area Farmer, Dies Suddenly Mr. Henry W. Deters Mr. Henry W. Deters, 67, well known farmer and insurance agent in St. Francis Township died unexpectedly in his home on Sunday, March 16, 1969 at 4:00 P. M. Mr. Deters had been in ill health for the past two years. He suffered a stroke two years ago. Mr. Deters was born May 17, 1901, the son of Anton G. Deters and Elizabeth Pruemer Deters. He was married to Mary Zerrusen on October 28, 1924. and they resided all of their married life on a farm southeast of Teutopolis. He was very active in the Home Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company, having served in the capacity of agent, treasurer, and president for 35 years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was active in the United Fund for the past ten years. Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary, are two sons, Cletus of Teutopolis and Arthur, who lives in the homeplace, four daughters, Mrs. Luella (Joe) Will of Teutopolis, Mrs. Rosemary (Leonard) Grueul of Sigel, Mrs. Eileen (Charles) Moon of Effingham, and Mrs. Dolores (Bernard) Will of Heartville, twenty-eight grandchildren, one brother Albert J., and one sister, Miss Emma Deters of Teutopolis. Preceeding his in death were his parents, two brothers, Edward and John, and one sister, Clara. The body was at Habing's Funeral Home in Teutopolis where the rosary was recited on Monday and Tuesday evening. The Funeral Mass was at 10:00 A. M. in St. Francis Church on Wednesday, March 19, 1969 with Father Ralph Scherrer O. F. M., officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Pals, James Koester, Lawrence Tegeler, Robert Kemme, Albert Lau, and Anthony Rieman, all neighbors.

Text: Mary Deters dies at age 94 Mary T. (Zerrusen) Deters, 94, of rural Teutopolis died at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 1995, at Evergreen Nursing & Convalescent Center, Effingham. The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Catholic Church, Teutopolis, with a burial in the church cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Bauer Funeral Home, Teutopolis, with a Council of Catholic Women rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Mrs. Deters was born February 13, 1901, in St. Francis Township, the daugther of Anton and Angela (Schroeder) Zerrusen. She married Henry W. Deters in 1924 in Teutopolis. He died in 1969. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and Council of Catholic Women, both of Teutopolis; and a former member of Effingham County Home Extension. Surviving are her sons, Cletus and Arthur, both of Teutopolis; daughters, Mrs. Joe (Luella) Will of rural Teutopolis, Mrs. Leonard (Rosemary) Greuel, and Mrs. Bernard (Delores) Will, both of rural Effingham; 35 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, four brothers and one sister.
