Text: F. Bloemer dies at age 68 Francis Joseph "Bud" Bloemer, 68, of Effingham died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, January 10, at St. Anthony's Hospital, Effingham. The funeral was at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Effingham, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with a parish wake service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or St. Anthony schools, Effingham. Mr. Bloemer was born January 22, 1922, in Effingham, the son of Joseph and Anna (Niebrugge) Bloemer. He married Marie E. Probst in 1949 in Island Grove. Mr. Bloemer was a dairy farmer and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Effingham County Coon Hunters Association and the National Rifle Association. Surviving are his wife; sons, Oscar, Donald, Ronald and Tony, all of Effingham; daughters, Mrs. Louis (Darlene) Esker, Mrs. Ron (Carol) Wendt, Mrs. Rem (Marilyn) Woodruff, Mrs. Bill (Theresa) Hardiek and Mrs. Thomas (Rosalie) Westendorf, all of Effingham, Cindy Bloemer at home, Mrs. Phil (Linda) Stalling of Watson, Mrs. Mike (Shirley) Olerich of San Jose, California, Mrs. Joe (Patty) Jansen of Mason, Mrs. Bruce (Julie) Willenborg of St. Charles, Missouri, Mrs. Bruce (Connie) Albright of Naperville; brother, John of Effingham; sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Minnie) Kinkelaar, Katherine Doedtman, Mrs. Raymond (Gert) Probst and Mrs. Leonard (Gustie) Unkraut, all of Effingham, Mrs. Bernard (Florence) Probst of Wheeler; and fifteen grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by one daughter, one sister and two brothers.

Text: John Bloemer dies Sunday John B. H. Bloemer, 90, of rural Effingham died at 10:02 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Sunbridge Care & Rehabilitation in Effingham. Mr Bloemer was born November 4, 1911, in Effingham, the son of Joseph and Anna (Niebrugge) Bloemer. He married Josephine Nosbisch on November 24, 1935. She preceeded him in death. He was a retired farmer; a member of Teutopolis Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society and Effingham County Coon Hunters Association. Surviving are his sons, David (Judy) Bloemer of Teutopolis, Daniel (Cindy) Bloemer of Effingham; daughters, Joann Deters of Teutopolis, Doris (Bob) Deters of Teutopolis, Alice (Jim) Watson of Effingham, Mardell Flack of Shumway, Judy (Steven) Wells of Teutopolis, Kathy (David) O'Rourke of DuQuoin, Diane (Kenny) Kreke of Mason, Debbie (Kevin) Weber of Teutopolis; daughter-in-law, Pam Bloemer of Teutopolis, sisters Augusta (Leonard) Unkraut of Effingham, Florence Probst of Island Grove, Minnie Kinkelaar of Effingham, Kate Doedtman of Effingham; forty grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife, one son, Jack Bloemer of Teutopolis, two sisters, three brothers and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Mary of Help Church in Green Creek, with burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Meinhart-Neal Funeral Home in Effingham, with a parish wake service at 6:30 p.m. and a K of C rosary at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to CEFS/Golden Circle Nutrition Program (Meals on Wheels).

Text: Mrs. Anna Bloemer Dies At Age 85 Mrs. Anna Bloemer, 85, of rural Effingham, died at 5 a.m. Sunday, June 17, 1973, in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham. The daughter of Anton and Wilhemina Feldhoelter Niebrugge, she was born July 7, 1887, in Effingham county. She married Joseph Bloemer in August, 1905. He died in 1952. She was a member of St. Anthony Church, Effingham and the Altar Society. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Philomina) Kinkelaar, Effingham; Mrs. Catherine Doedtman, Effingham; Mrs. Bernard (Florence) Probst, Wheeler; Mrs. Ray (Gertrude) Probst, Dieterich; Mrs. Leonard (Augusta) Unkraut, Effingham; sons, Arnold, John and Francis, all of rural Effingham; Louis of Teutopolis; Brothers, John, August, Edward and Clem Niebrugge, all of rural Effingham; sisters Mrs. Otto Weinstroer and Mrs. Carl Seiler, both of St. Louis, Mo., 79 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. One daughter, Agnes Vonderheide, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Anthony Church, Effingham, with burial in the church cemetery. Father Terry Niebrugge, Father Richard Niebrugge and Father Herman Niebrugge, nephews of the deceased, con-celebrated the Mass. Mass servers were grandchildren Dale Probst, Michael Kinkelaar, Dan Bloemer and Arnold Bloemer. Pallbearers were grandchildren, Arthur Bloemer, Robert Bloemer, David Bloemer, Donald Probst, Dean Probst, and James Kinkelaar.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham with a parish wake service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or Hospice of Lincolnland Heartland Service Area. Mr. Bloemer was born in Effingham County, September 16, 1913, the son of Joseph and Anna (Niebrugge) Bloemer. He married Isabell Doedtman in 1941. He was a section hand for Illinois Central Railroad for 38 years, a farmer and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife; sons Jim and Jerry, both of Effingham, Bernie of Sullivan, Larry of Troy, Ralph of Pana; daughter Mrs. Lynn (Annie) Harrelson of Brighton; brothers John and Francis "Bud", both of Effingham; sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Minnie) Kinkelaar, Katherine Doedtman, Mrs. Raymond (Gert) Probst and Mrs. Leonard (Gustie) Unkraut, all of Effingham, Mrs. Bernard (Florence) Probst of Wheeler, and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
