Title: Obituary - Angela Schroeder (1863)
Text: Mrs. Angela Zerrusen, 91, Of St. Francis Township, Dies Monday Mrs. Angela Zerrusen, one of the oldest residents of the Teutopolis community, died at 11:10 p.m. Monday, October 17 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Zerrusen of southeast of Teutopolis. She was 91 years, 11 months and five days old. Death was due to old age. She had been very active and was not bedfast until just recently. Mrs. Zerrusen was born November 12, 1863 in Hanover Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schroeder. She came to this country and was united in marriage to Anton Zerrusen on May 27, 1884. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1928. She was a member of the St. Ann's Sodality of St. Francis church, Teutopolis. Surviving are four sons, Joe, Tony, Henry, and Ferd of Teutopolis and two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Deters of Teutopolis, and Mrs. Frank (Anna) Herboth of Effingham. Thirty grandchildren and fifty-five great grandchildren also survive. The rosary was recited Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Habing funeral home in Teutopolis where the body lies in state. The solemn requiem mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning in St. Francis church with burial in the parish cemetery.

Title: Obituary - Anton Zerrusen (1839)
Text: ATTAINED RIPE AGE ANTON ZERRUSEN PASSED AWAY ON MONDAY Aged 89 Years. Funeral Was Held Wednesday Morning From St. Francis Church Anton Zerrusen, Sr. died at his home in St. Francis township, Monday, July 30th, 1928. Age 89 years. Funeral services were held at St. Francis church, Teutopolis, Wednesday morning at nine o'clock followed by interment in parish cemetery. Relatives, neighbors and Men's Sodality attended the obsequies. Father Ephrem Muench, O. F. M. sang the Requiem and Father Anthony, O. F. M. officiated at the grave. Deceased was born in Cincinnati, Ohio being the son of Henry Zerrusen and Anna M. Boknin, eearly immigrants of Germany, who afterwards moved to Effingham county. In later years he married, May 27, 1884. He is survived by his wife, nee Angela M. Schroeder, six children: Anton, Joseph, (Anna) Mrs. Frank Herboth of Effingham, Ferd at home, Henry, (Mary) Mrs. Henry Deters, eighteen grandchildren and one step-sister, grandmother Mrs. Elizabeth Pruemer.
