Note:   The Balmain Cemetery operated from 1868 to 1912. The cemetery was converted into a park in 1942, with the headstones being demolished and used to construct the boundary wall. The Balmain Cemetery Act 1941 required that a list of all burials in the park be produced. Leichhardt Council holds a microfiche of that list. The details in the Australian Cemeteries Index (ACI) are based on that list, on BDM records and the document "Balmain Revisited" by June Dawson, and from Lorraine Greve of the Central Coast Family History Society.
