Note: Robert Joshua Nunn was born April 18, 1858, in Middleton Township, Norfolk County, Ontario, and moved to Michigan in 1885. Four years later he married Miss Mattie Hill, of Amy, Michigan. At the time of his death on March 9, 1911, he left his wife and two children. He was 52 years old. (see obituary for R. J. Nunn and death card provided by Edie Retell.) An article from local newspaper describes how he fell from a wagon returning home from Utica, Michigan. "Bob" Nunn Killed Falls from Wagon Returning Home from Utica While driving home from town Tuesday evning, Robert Nunn fell from his wagon and received injuries from which he died Thursday morning. Mr. Nunn came to town with a load of lumber which he left at the Reed mill to be dressed and was riding home sitting on the roach. It is supposed that the horses became frightened and threw him off. When the horses came into the yard alone the frightened family started to search and found him lying, face down in the road about sixty rods from the house. His head was injured and body paralyzed. He died about two o'clock Thursday morning. Mr. Nunn had recently purchased and moved to the Chas. Burgess farm, northwest of town. The funeral will be held from the house at 1:30 o'clock standard time, Sunday afternoon. He leaves beside his wife, one son, Melvin, and one daughter, Miss Iva Nunn."
