Note: I can find no extensive writings of Eva Ellen McMullen to any of her children or relatives. Of course, she died at a relatively young age (49), and her children were still at home. My mother remembers her mother fondly, but without a great amount of detail (see Dorothy Mathis' recollections of a childhood on her notes).
AUTOGRAPH ALBUM
Her father gave Eva Ellen an album for Christmas 1900, which I possess. In this album, Eva entered some of the more important dates in her life and in those of her family. She entered the birth, death and marriage dates of many of her family members, in addition to the following noteworthy items of interest:
J.W. Mathis and family left Wichita Falls, Texas Sept. 13, 1918
Betty Jones & Sarah Flanigan came to Texarkana Oct. 13, 1922
Ezra McMullen & Lou Leach came to Texarkana Aug 12, 1920
Ezra, Lou, Daisy and Duane and Dean and family came to Texarkana July 15th 1926 and left July 18
Lous staid until Aug. 23
Ina came July 18, 1926 and left July 28th
Martha came Sept. 23, 1926 and left Sept. 26
Dot & I left Texarkana July 23, 1921. Went to Austin, Llano, Center Point and San Antonio.
Cleo left Aug 27, 1931, went to Bronson, Austin and Llano.
Ezra, Lou, Daisy and Duane came to Texarkana Aug. 20, 1933.
Daisy was 53 yrs old Aug 31, 1933.
I bobbed my hair May 17, 1930.
We bought the piano April 4, 1927
We moved to 501 Kirby St. May 1926
I went over to Mrs. Hightower's to take treatment May 4, 1934 and staid 3 weeks, came home May 25. My trouble left me the 27th.
