Note: Angell Husted about 1625 - 1706 Angell Husted was born ca.1625, probably in Dorset, England, the son of Robert Husted and Elizabeth Miller. Angell was about ten years old when he came with his parents to the Massachusetts Bay Colony, leaving England on March 20, 1635. Angell was a witness to the July 18, 1640 indian land deed with his father Robert and others. Sometime in 1642, Angell moved from Stamford, Connecticut and built a one room home, near the Robert Feakes home in Greenwich, Connecticut. There is a question of the Angell Husted and Rebecca Sherwood marriage. Will of Angell does name wife as Rebecca-no last name given. Some researchers claim that Rebecca Sherwood was the second wife of Angell . I leave Rebecca listed as a reference point until definite proof is found. Around September 1, 1643, Angell went to Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut to marry Rebecca Sherwood the daughter of Thomas Sherwood and Alice Tiler. Rebecca Sherwood was baptised 10/13/1622. this has been confirmed from the St. Nicholas Parish Register in Kettlebaston, Suffolk, England (Near Ipswich). The Thomas Sherwood family came from England on the ship Frances in April of 1634, and by 1646, a Thomas Sherwood family was living in Greenwich, Connecticut. Angell Husted was one of seven proprieters of the village of Greenwich, who held a town meeting on February 5, 1664, to petition the General Assembly in Hartford, Connecticut to seperate Greenwich from Stamford. He was one of the original patentees, named in the patent granted in 1665, making him one of the founding fathers of the new state town of Greenwich, Connecticut. Angell Husted died on [or after] April 5, 1706, his will is dated April 5, 1706. The last Will and Testament of Angell Husted Senr of Greenwich being under Weakness of body notwithstanding through gods mercy in the lnjoyement of my understanding I do cause to will & dispose of what movable Estate god in his bounty hath bestowed upon me as followeth vz: I will that my body be decenly burryed & the charge defrayed out of my Estate & Respecting my dear & loving wife I will that shee be paid what is her due from my Estate as may appear due to her I further will yt all my just debts be paid out of my estate Respecting my severall children which god hath given me I will to them as followethe vz: I will unto my son Jonathan Husted & to my son Joseph Husted & to my son Angell Husted and unto my dafter Elizabeth Bawldin I say I will unto each of them one shilling in Current Money haveing formerly Given unto each of them their portion I will unto my son Moses Husted five shillings Current money as the whole of his portion with what I have don for him and respecting what Estate may be remaining after my decease the above written being [comprised(striken out)] accomplished I say I will that the remainder of my estate movables be given unto my son John Husted and to my son Samll Husted to be equally devided between them At the discretion of my Admrs I farther make choice or appoint my son Samll Husted and my son in law Jonathan Renolds to be administrators to this my last will and testament and for the confirmation of this my Will I said Angell Husted Senr do hereunto set to my hand and seall in Greenwich Anno 1706 Aprill the 5th day.
