Notes
a. Note:   Moses, son of John Henry Husted, was born at Dutchess County, New York on May 15, 1748. He married Mary Sarah Goodwin, daughter of Edward Goodwin and Tabitha Webb, circa 1770. He died between 1835 and 1836 at Harrison Co., WV.20 [M; DAR application lists Margaret Davis as the second wife of Moses Hustead.
Moses HUSTEAD (b. 5-13-1748 ) md. Sarah GOODWIN and Margaret DAVIS. Moses HUSTEAD died in 1835 (w/p 6-11-1835, Harrison Co., WV). He had a daughter named Nancy HUSTEAD, b. 1772/73, Monongalia Co., WV, d. 1860, married 2-19-1789, Harrison Co., WV, Gabriel GREATHOUSE. Elizabeth GREATHOUSE was a daughter of Gabriel and Nancy.
Moses moved with his brothers Robert, John and Gilbert to Pennsylvania before the Revolutionary War, during which he served on the Virginia frontier.

 Service Pvt 8th VA Troops
 Buried Near Bridgport WV
He settled on Booth's Creek, in Monongalia County, Virginia (in what is now Harrison County, West Virginia) in about 1772. (Monongalia County joined Fayette County, Pennsylvania where his brother Robert settled.)
Moses Husted married Margaret Davis on February 28, 1791 in Harrison County. This was his second marriage, as there was a Mary born in 1772 and a Rachel who were his daughters by a former marriage to Sarah Goodwin. Also, his son James (who married in 1803) was a product of this first marriage.
Moses and Margaret Husted deeded land to John and James Husted, but in the deed to John the words "their son" would infer that James was the son of the first wife, Sarah Goodwin. Moses Husted died in 1835, and his wife Margaret died sometime later, as she and a son, William, were mentioned in his will. There may have been other children, but definite records exist for Mary, born in 1772, who married Gabriel Greathouse in 1789 or 1799. James married Elizabeth Davis in 1803. John, born about 1792, married Jane Davis in about 1812. William married Mary (unknown).
