Note:   Erastus S. Finn, husband of Clair Billig and father of Peter Davidson Finn was first a conductor and then a dispatcher for the DL&W RR. He lived in Hyde Park, Scranton, Luzerne Co. PA.
  Per the Pennsylvania Mortality Schedule for June 1st 1870, E. S. Finn died in November 1869 at age 43 from typhoid. If so, the only surviving child of his marriage to Clarissa Amanda Billig (Clair) was Peter Davidson Finn, born in September 1870. So this record has issues since the son would have been born 11 months after his father died.
  There is another E.S. Finn, who lived in Greenfield, Luzerne Co., with his wife Jane. Jane was from NY. This Erastus was a farmer. I obtained his will and found that he died some years after our Erastus. They were a year apart in age.
  Some believe that the E. S. Finn who died in 1870 of typhoid is Erastus S, the father of Peter Davidson Finn. He may have had a birthday after June and before his death in November, as he was 42 on the 1870 census. On the 1860 and 1870 census reports, his occupation was Conductor and Dispatcher for the RR. A daughter and son from his first marriage to Oakley (Nancy) were living with him and Clair on the 1870 census. The names and ages were correct for the children. Peter Davidson was not yet born when the census was taken.
