Survived by her husband, John; 1 son Shawn Keith Sumner of Gary; 5 brothers Danny (Janie) Harris of Hammond; Douglas (Jackie) Harris of Oklahoma City, OK; John (Cindy) Harris of Dyersburg, TN; Eugene Overby of Atlanta, GA; Eddie Overby of Quincy, MA; 2 sisters Paula (Barry) Dodd of Gary; Leona Issakson of NC. Preceded in death by one sister Patricia Anderson,
Funeral services will be held Monday , May 24, 2004, 9:30am at Kuiper Funeral Home; 9039 Kleinman Rd., Highland, with Pastor Michael Poole officiating.
Burial Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville. Visitation Sunday 4-8 pm at the Kuiper Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sumner was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, baseball coach at Black Oak elementery school and basketball coach of the boys and girls at Grissom Elementary School.
She was president of the Sumner Leasing Corporation.
