Notes
a. Note:   !Hi Paula,This is Lance Holt, I've already posted a reply to your other post in the Barton Board, but I thought I would paste it again here to be sure you didn't miss it. Your William M. Barton sounds like the brother of my GGrandfather Yearby Franklin Barton. Since writing the message below, I checked my digital records and realize that they are very incomplete! I don't have Uncle Buck's family in the PAF record, but I did interview old Judge Teacle (Spelling?), son of our Barton Boy's cousin Jesse (I have a photo of the wild bunch in my collection.) I know I have this info in my trunk along with other photos, etc.You just found a descendant of Yearby Barton! Yearb was my Great Grandfather on my father's mother's side.Yearb and his brother William "Buck Barton" were known around Alexandria as "The Barton Boys" and from what I gathered from the old Patriarch of the Barton clan one summer several years ago, was that they were a terror among the country! Actually what I was told was that if anyone had any trouble with anyone else, they just had to "call on the Barton Boys" and it would be "taken care of!" This is quite a different story than the one told by my Grandmother Ruth Holt, who said her Father was "the sweetest christian man there ever was!"I have a GEDCOM file I would be more than happy to upload for you if you write me (or if anyone reading this wants to write me) I have some terrific photographs to share, but I would like to hear what you have and how you relate to him and to me. I look forward to hearing from you.Lance J. Holt
!Pardon me for jumping into the middle of this thread, but I have an old photo of my Great Grandfather, his brother and their cousin. I know very little about any of them really, but it looks like I may get some info from this board (I hope). My GGrandfather and his brother were commonly known as "the Barton Boys" - the peace-keepers of the family (infer what you like here!) Yearby Barton (My GGrandfather), William Barton "Uncle Buck" and their cousin Jessie Teekell. Several years ago, I visited Alexandria, LA and happened upon Judge Teekell who proved to be Jessie's son and a district court judge. Does anyone know any more of this branch of the family or would anyone like to see the photo? Please let me know. My connection to this thread seems too good to be coincidence. My GGrandmother was one of triplets: Alice Ophelia Kemp (Married Yearby Barton), Cordelia Kemp (married "Buck" Barton - I think), and I am not sure of the third triplet's name? If this family is related to yours, I would very much like to correspond and share information. Thanks in advance.
 NOTE: see 1880 census....no sign of a 3d child..just Ophelia & Cordelia. kh
