Note: --Source of information: Horace WELK <HWelk32720@@aol.com>; FIRST MARRIED TO OBEROLTZER THEN AS THIRD WIFE OF WM. NASH. I AM A DIRECT DESCENDANT OF WM. NASH AND AGNES KOLB OBERHOLTZER. Agnes Kolb, was widow of Martin Oberholtzer when she married a second time to William Nash. Source: History of Bucks Co. Davis II, Ref 974 . 821 D, P55, Note 5. SHE WAS THE 3RD WIFE OF WM. NASH. SHE IS THE DIRECT ANCESTOR OF MY BRANCH OF THE NASH TREE. She was born April 18, 1713: died February 15, 1786. Her first marriage was to Martin Oberholtzer on . November 2, 1736. He was born in 1709 in Germany and died April 5, 1744 in his 39th year. She married for the second time to pioneer William Nash, as his third wife. Look in Excel File under Family Trees: Kolb/Colley for origin of Agnes Kolb. Agnes was born at Lucon in Perkiomen and Skippack Township Old Philadelphia County. She died Feb. 15 1786. She and first husband Martin Oberholtzer lived in Bedminster Township, Bucks Co. but she may have moved to Towamincin after his death. Her sister Dorothy Kolb (born c 1706) was married to John Gottschalk (died 1759), a brother of Nash's first wife Magdalena.. William Nash and Agnes lived in Towamencin until he sold his farm there in 1756 and they then moved to Deep Run. William Nash had not gotten title to his land in Deep Run before he died. The codicil to his will provided that the executrix, wife Agnes, and executor, son in law Wm. Tyson, should have full power and authority to get a draught for Nash's Plantation, so that they might get a deed or title for it, if they saw fit. The appraisal of Nash's Estate came to L 439, 5 s, 9d. In May 10, 1762 Wm. Allen conveyed title of 175 acres, 44 perches just to the northeast of the 50 acres of Mennonite church land to Abraham Black/Swartz, a brother in law of the Nash's and a witness to Nash's will. Swartz had married Annie Kolb (born 1708) a sister if Agnes. A History of Bedminster 974 821 CAS P 60, differs from the account of A.J. Fretz by stating "this lot was sold by Black to Agnes Nash 17 April 1784. On 7 Nov. 1784 Agnes sold it to Jacob Overhold. The Fretz account states Henry not Jacob Overhold. also the Bedminster History uses Abraham Balck aka Schwartz who changed his name to Black on settling in Bedminster. Also note 1774 vs 1784. REF NASH 020 "History of Bedminster" states: 10 May 1762 175 ac to Abraham Balck also known as Abraham swartz having changed his name on settling in Bedminster. He acquirted large amount of acreage in the area of the Presbyterian Church. This particular lot was sold by Black to Agnes Nash, widow of William Nash 17 April 1784. On 7 Nov. 1784 Agnes Nash sold it to Jacob Overhold. Children of Agnes Kolb and Martin Oberholtzer: Barbara, Henry, Marie, John, Martin. Martin the father (1709-1744) could be son of Marcus (1664-1726)who emigrated from Germany in 1710.
