Note: --He was a Stepson to Magdalena. --He was the founder of Nashville Tenn. --He was a General in the Revolutionary War, wounded in the "Battle of Germantown" and died in Towamencin, and is buried at the Mennonite Cemetery. A large Monument is located there, also Washington was said to be at the funeral service. --Source of information (2 March 2000): Michael J. Godshalk <godshalk@@suntan.eng.usf.edu> <2217 Summit View Dr. VALRICO, FL 33594-5235 (813)681-9481>; I'm not sure where I'd heard/found the information listed above, but I don't believe it to be correct. I've been to the cemetery and the stone isn't listed for William NASH and in Nashville, I couldn't find any reference to a William NASH as their founder. --Source of information (2 March 2000): Donna Donnell <sparky23@@flash.net>; You need to correct your information on Wm. Nash, being the founder and Revolutionary War Genneral killed at Germantown, Pennsylvania is incorrect. It was Gen. Francis Nash who was killed and Francis did not live to found Nashville. Nashborough was named in his honor however. Not meaning to be critical, but I am a historian and hate to see incorrect info on the internet. Plus the correction may assist you in your own research.
