Electoral Rolls 1945,1948 Edna May Quince, School Lane. For many years Edna worked in an office in London. One day while walking the streets of London, a doctor stopped and observed the black spider web lines on her face. He say he could removed them for her. When she was young she had tripped while carrying a bottle and cut her face. Someone ran and got a spider's web to put on her wound the stop the bleeding. - As recounted by Ada Quince Donovan. - Perhaps this is why Edna and Polly liked spiders in their house and would not kill even the largest one that crawled out from the electric fireplace. Edna was mild, gentle & full of humour. She liked to walk out the back yard of her parents' house, around the farmers cabbage fields, and along the river bank & foot bridge. A drink in the local pub with Polly was also welcomed. - PJA At least twice Edna visited her sister Ada in Toronto. Once Vera visited at the same time. Edna also warmly welcomed at her home nephew Peter McGettigan and nieces, Pat Felker & Louise Bolton. Edna visited her son many times in South Africa. - - -
