Note: Juliana Pymme (d.1541) was the wife of the above Robert. In the body ot her May the 7th, 1541 will her name is spelled Guellian and Gellian, (The l2th-lSth century Pronunciation was Jillian" but when "Jill" became a synonym for loose woman it lost Popularity), After the usual pious invocations she bequeathed to grandson Robert Pymne a corye (scuttle?) to daughter in law Johane Pyme, wife of John Pyme, her best gown and second-best kyrtill (Petticoat), her "harness girdle", a pair of "great" sheets and 10 yards of linen cloth. Daughter Agnes Barry got her best petticoat and second-best gown, a pair of great sheets, a blanket, pillows, a silk ribbon, 10½ yards ~f linen cloth and a chest. Thomasyne Snell got a pillow case. Ursula Barre got her best hanging kettle. Granddaughter Julian Pyme got two plates and two saucers. Granddaughter Dorothy got an unidentifiable item, and Eleanor Daily, whoever she was, a coarse sheet. The detail of the Wills quoted gives evidence of relationships and a vivid impression of their modest lifestyle. Juliana had Property of her own in the nearby parish of Godinersham, perhaps inherited from her father. Of this she left a house and garden to Thomas and Agnes Barrey, and 4 acres of land to her son John. Lastly she ordered 6 masses "with dirge and asinging", Probate was granted May 27th. 1541 to Edward Mange? and her son-in-law Thomas Barrey,
