Note: Agnes Barrye was the sister of John Pymme and became the wife of Thomas Barrye whose will is dated May 20, 1576. There were connections between the Barrys and the Scotts. evidenced by legacies in the 1485 and 1487 wills of Sir John Scott and his widow Agnes, to Joise (Joys) Barry. The Barreys were of some account; a Richard Barre was Henry II's emissary to the Pope to present the king's version of the murder of Thomas a Beckett in 1171. The Barryes had a number of properties in Chilham parish, such as Medlefield and Solys Hill. the former adjoinging the Pymes' Meldefield and the latter possibly purchased from them.
