Notes
a. Note:   Felix Thornton was born in Duplin County, North Carolina (known as Sampson County after 1784) and is seen living in Sampson County, North Carolina on the 1810 Census records with two adults born before 1765 (his parents I suspect). Felix has children born as late as 1816 in North Carolina so he has moved to Smith County, Tennessee sometime between 1816 - 1820 (when he shows up on the 1820 census there) and if we are to believe the 1850 Schuyler County, Illinois census records, left for Schuyler County, Illinois sometime between 1829 when his son, Francis M. Thornton, was born in Tennessee and 1830 when Felix shows up on the Schuyler County, Illinois census. One thing that puzzles me is who is the young male age 10-16 listed on the 1810 census with Felix? It isn't Owen as he's listed separately. Felix is not married in 1810 and being born in 1783, he's 27. Was he married previously with a son? The youngest the boy could be is 10 which would mean Felix was 17 when he was born.
