Notes
a. Note:   The Polly lineage is being researched by Faye Clark, email: fclark@casstel.net.
Elizabeth (Bet) Polly, b. 22 Jul 1843, was the eighth child, fourth daughter, of Ned and Jane Adams Polly. She was eight years old when the family left Letcher County, Kentucky, for Missouri. The Marriage of Elizabeth Polly to Vincent Irwin, 18 Feb 1869, by Wm. C. Reed, JP, is recorded in Morgan County (Missouri) Marriage Records, Book B, (Red Book 1860-1893), page 117.
The 1880 Federal Census for Camden County, Missouri, show that Stephen and Mary Polly Cornett were their neighbors.
The children of Vincent Irwin and Elizabeth (Bet) Polly Irwin were: Allen Irwin Andrew Irwin, b. 3 Jan 1873 Sarah Irwin, died while very young John W. Irwin, b. 4 Mar 1879 Jennie Irwin, died while very young Martin Irwin Vincent Irwin died before 1900 and was buried at Old Gladstone Cemetery. Mrs. Karr remembers that when John W. Irwin came to visit her family, he always visited his father's grave which was just across their garden fence. When Bagnell Dam was built, Vince Irwin's grave was one of those that were moved to Union Cemetery, near Rocky Mount, Missouri.
In Camden County Land Records, Book 20, Page 371, there is a Warrenty Deed, dated 08 Dec 1905, whereby Elizabeth Irwin acquired from J.W. Downing, 40 A., Sec. 21, Twp. 40, Range 16.
After the death of Albert Polly's mother, when he was about 18 months old, Betty Irwin took him into her home and raised him. Albert was the son of Bet's brother, Andrew Polly, and Mary Ann Carroll Polly.
