Mortician Flint-Flickinger. Jack Stanton Amelung Obituary, The Bakersfield Californian, Monday, November 22, 1965, Page 40, Column 5. AMELUNG, JACK STANTON - Services were conducted today for Jack Stanton Amelung, 50, of 3512 Truman Ave., who died Saturday in a Bakersfield hospital. Mr. Amelung, a native of New York, worked as a storekeeper for Paul Hardeman Inc. for 10 years. He was a resident of Kern County for a year and had lived in California 28 years. He was a veteran of World War II. He enlisted in the Marine Corps Feb. 4, 1942, at Los Angeles, and was discharged Eb. 5, 1946, at San Diego. He held the rank of technical sergeant. He received the Good conduct Medal Jan. 9, 1946 and a medal for being an expert with a pistol and rifle from Maj. Gen. N.F. Twining, United States Army. Interment was in Union Cemetery in the Veteran's section. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Margaret Warner of Bakersfield, and an aunt. The Flint-Flickinger Mortuary. Union Cemetery, King & Potomac Streets, Bakersfield, CA 93307.
