Note:   Auswandererlisten des Ehemaligen Herzogtums Braunschweig, 1846-1871, (German Newspapers listed intent to leave the country) BODENSTEIN, Johann Heinrich, Daily laborer, son of the small house owner (?) in Ortshausen, Andreas Bodenstein, married in Bornum on 8 Feb. 1829 to ACHTERMANN, Johanna Marie Dorothee, service maid in Bornum, daughter of Heinrich Jacob Achtermann and N. N. Reinecke. Their Children: 1. Friedrich Christian, born 13 Jan. 1830, 2. Johanna Marie Magdalene, born 7 Feb. 1835. Announced to leave in 1853 to America.
  BODENSTEIN, Adolf Wilhelm, Servant, born 19 Oct 1831, son of the aforementioned. Announced to leave in 1852 to America.
  The Missouri Cash Book, Jackson, Missouri, Wednesday, October 25, 1871, Volume 1, No. 13, Column 3, Last Paragraph. "Killed by a Tree". "We regret to learn that Mr. Wm. Bodenstein a well-known citizen living near Gordonville, lost his life on Monday evening at half past 4 o'clock by a sad accident. He had chopped down a tree, and in descending, it fell upon and killed him. We learn that Mr. Bodenstein, at the time of his untimely death, was about 40 years of age."
