  Obituary of John E. Thornton (obtained from micro-film of Gallatin newspaper dated July 10, 1908) This was a weekly newspaper at that time.
 J.E. Thornton, father of Felix R. Thornton of this city and one of the old time settlers of the city, died Monday at the home of one of his children at Sedalia.
  The remains were brought here Tues. night and were laid to rest at the Centenery Cemetery east of town on Weds. afternoon. Short funeral services being conducted at the grave by Dr. T.H.B. Anderson.
  The deceased was the step father of Mrs. J.D. Tomlinson of the city. For a number of years he had been making his home with his children and for some time had been at Sedalia.
  Note: Matilda “Emmaline” Thornton Reno, wife of Jasper Reno, was where John E. died.
