Obituary in Derry Standard on Wed 18 October 1944:
  MR. ALBERT PRICE, DERRY.
With the death on Monday of Mr Albert Price, Deanfield, the city of Derry loses one who nearly all his life had been associated with its well-being and business development.
Mr Price's name was familiar in many circles in the cityand the North-West, and he knew and was known by a large number in all walks of life. His courteous, affable disposition and straighforward character made him not only respected but popular generally.
Mr Price for many years was best known in business as the proprietor of a progressive sports store in Shipquay Place which is now in the possession of Mr. T. Orr. He retired owing to ill-health a short time before the outbreak of war and his retirement removed him largely from the scenes of activity in which he formerly figured. A further decline in health confined him to his house for the last twelve months.
The late Mr. Price had been a member of the Londonderry Rotary Club from the time of its inception until he relinquished business. He was a prominant member of the Masonic Order and a memeber of All Saints Church, Clooney, in which he held office for a time.
His brother Mr. Edwin Price, met a tragic death in the Diamiond during riots in 1920 when he was shot while entering his hotel.
Mr. Albert Price leaves a widow, to whom the sympathy of the public will be widely extended. He also leaves a son, who is a gunner serving in England, and a daughter who is in the W.R.N.S. Service in Gibralter. A sister, Mrs Armatys, resides in England.
