a. Note:   Obituary - Chatham Daily News - April 3, 1978 Thamesville - Mrs. Aaltje Bisschop (Alice), RR 4 Thamesville, died suddenly on April 1 in her 69th year. Mrs. Bisschop was born in Holland, daughter of the late John Bork and Hilligje Withaar, and came to Canada 29 years ago and had resided in Howard Township for the past 23 years. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, Chatham. Surviving are her husband, Arend Bisschop; daughters, Mrs. Case (Jessie) Timmerman, Mrs. Bram (Henny) Schoon, Mrs. James (Glenda) King and Miss Nancy Bisschop, all of Chatham; sons, John, San Francisco, Harm, Northwood, Hilbert, RR 4 Thamesville, William, RR 3 Kent Bridge, Henry, Penatanguishene, Albert, Georgetown and Arthur, Ralph and Tim of Chatham. Also surviving are seven sisters and two brothers in Holland and thirty grandchildren. Three brothers are predeceased. Resting at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, Thamesville until Wednesday morning, April 5. Funeral service will be conducted from the First Christian Reform Church, Tweedsmuir Avenue, Chatham on Wednesday afternoon at 2pm with Rev. Lammert Sloftstra officiating. Burial will be in Sherman Cemetery, Thamesville.
