  Moses was the son of Edward Tyler and Nancy Langley Tyler. He married Phoebe Evans about 1779. They had 10 sons. Moses held the one of the earliest Whiskey Licences issued by the state of Kentucky.His homestead is now called "Blackacre" a state preserve. The barn he built sometime before 1790 still stands there today.
