Note: The Lord called Stacy Janelle Faye Goedeke, 31, of Atlanta, Georgia, to be with Him on Monday, July 10, 2017. Stacy died unexpectedly of natural causes. Stacy was born on August 9, 1985 in Girard, Kansas. Her parents are Darrel and Janis Goedeke of rural McCune, Kansas. She was a graduate of West Mineral Kansas Attendance Center, Southeast High School Cherokee, Kansas, and a 2008 graduate of Kansas State University. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Girard, Kansas, and attended the Buckhead Christian Ministry in Atlanta. She was very proud to be a KSU Wildcat and her degree in Milling Science and Management was the foundation of a very successful career. During her career she worked for Kerry Ingredients, Kraft, Mondelez International, Inc., and most recently Diamond Crystal Brands in Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked as a Senior Materials and Logistics Manager. In 2012 she earned the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification, and she was presented with the Fuel, Treat, and Boost Award from Mondelez International in 2014 and 2016. She was highly respected and loved by her coworkers. Stacy was an independent, free-spirit who succeeded at living life to its fullest. She loved to travel, visit her friends and family and never met an adventure she did not want to experience. Whether she was climbing the Eiffel Tower or playing board games with her family at Thanksgiving, Stacy found joy in every moment. The youngest of three siblings, she was the greatest source of laughter and joy in her family. While Stacy was achieving her dreams in Atlanta, her heart never left Kansas. She loved rural life and had a special love for Kansas sunsets and prairies. During her youth, Stacy was an avid 4-H`er. Her passion was her beef and dog projects. Even as an adult she loved attending the Crawford County Fair and was known to say that it was her favorite week of the year. She is survived by her parents, a brother, Darren Goedeke, his wife Beth, and their children Anna, Ella, and Cora, a sister, Mary Jo Goedeke, her husband David Schnebly and their children Elliot and Miranda, and her paternal grandmother, Winona Goedeke. She is also survived by two maternal aunts, Colleen Huff and her husband Jim Huff and Gale Goff. Paternal aunts and uncles are Sharon Strahan and her husband Ronnie, Dale Goedeke his wife Janet, Vickie Johnson, Donna Mays and her husband Doug. Stacy was a proud aunt and she will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephew. In addition, Stacy leaves multiple loving family members, coworkers, classmates, and her faithful canine companion, Rhett. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Glenna Goff, and her paternal grandfather, Eldon Goedeke and her paternal uncle, Sheldon Goedeke. The family will receive visitors who wish to remember and celebrate Stacy`s life at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 230 East 590th Avenue, Girard, Kansas on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 6:00-8:00 p.m. Private funeral services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Stacy Goedeke Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be left at or mailed to Derfelt Funeral Home at 132 E Pine St, Columbus, KS 66725.
