a. Note:   Philander Coburn served in the Union Army during the Civil War from 29
 Apr 1861 until his death. He was in Co. I, 1st Minnesota Volunteer
 Infantry Regiment. He was wounded at Bull Run, taken prisoner at
 Richmond, VA, Jul 1961, paroled to Jefferson Barracks near St. Louis, M
 and rejoined his regiment 22 Dec 1862. He was killed in battle 2 Jul
 1862 at the battle of Gettysburg.
