Date of Death: May 14, 1938 Cause of Death: Hypostatic Pneumonia; Cardiac Decompensation Contributory: Anemia _______________________________________ Obituary Benjamin Lear, 84, Died at His Birthplace May 14 [1938] -- Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at his late home for Benjamin Lear, aged 84 years, one of Bolivar's oldest citizens. Mr. Lear died at his home Saturday, May 14. He was born in Bolivar, July 31, 1853 and was a member of the Christian church. His pastor, the Rev. O.N. Bennett, was in charge of the services. Burial was made in Westview cemetery, Bolivar. Surviving Mr. Lear are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Lear and these children: Mrs. Susie Stevens and Mrs. Lulu Newbould of Blairsville; Mrs. Bertha Caldwell of New Florence; Charles Lear of Erie, Mrs. Agnes Tantlinger, Elmer Lear and Hiram Lear all of Bolivar.
