Joyce June Ritter of Broome Street, Catskill died April 10, 2013 at Barnwell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Valatie.Ê She was 83.
She was born in Roberts Hill, Hannacroix, a daughter of the late Cornelius and Emily Quick Irwin. Joyce graduated Coxsackie High School and worked at Marsh's Pharmacy, Coxsackie and as a secretary for Miller Labs, Athens.
Joyce married Herman J. Ritter on Sept. 26, 1948, and was active for many years in the United Methodist Church, Coxsackie. She was a current member of the Catskill United Methodist Church.
Beloved wife of the late Herman J. Ritter who died Dec. 25, 2008. Loving mother of Karen Ritter at home, Stephen Ritter of Earlton, Richard Ritter of Coxsackie and Herman John Ritter and his wife Patricia of Catskill; sister of Lois Tomecek of Yuma, Ariz., Emily Irwin of Surprise, Royal Irwin of Medway and the late Virginia Quick, Kathryn Dufkin, Norma Polach, Cornelius B. Irwin, Jr., Robert Irwin and Charity Mills. Ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Millspaugh-Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Heights, Catskill. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home by her nephew, Rev. Cornelius Irwin. Interment will follow in Town of Catskill Cemetery.
