Coleman, decÕd., resigns his guardianship, whereupon the court apppoints Thos. J Burnett [signature] who presents with William Burnett [signature] and Matthew Patton [signature] securities) guardian for these three minors. Butler Co., Ala., 10 Mar 1856, T. J. Burnett [signature] states that Margaret B. and Thos. B. Coleman are yet living, residents of this county for 11 years, and are entitled to a five-year extension as the children of Green W. Coleman (former captain in Regt. of Alabama militia who died in 1844), and appoints John Reid Jr. of Mobile attorney to collect pension due from 4 Sep 1855 to 4 Mar 1856, sworn before Samuel J. Bolling [signature], Judge of Probate; witnesses T. B. Waters [signature] and G. H. McClure [signature]. Butler Co., Ala., 5 Apr 1856, Alexander McKellar J.P [signature] has evidence of John Patton [signature] and R[atliff}, W. Holloman [signature], both of Greenville, as to the facts. Mobile, 7 Apr 1856, Jno. Reid Jr. [signature] collected $120.00. Butler Co., Ala., 8 Jul 1856, T. J. Burnett makes oath that GreenÕs son John F. Coleman was over 16 at the time the pension certificate was issued, and therefore has no interest therein, John yet under age 21. Mobile, 23 Dec 1856, Jno. Reid Jr. [signature] collected $120.00 due 4 Mar to 4 Sep 1856. [Payments continued until 20 Jul 1859 for youngest child.]
