Note: Roy W. Simons, age 80 of the Town of Wescott, passed away Friday, June 20, 2008 at his home. Born on September 4, 1927 in Oshkosh, he was the son of the late Edward (Claude) and Gladiola (Hoffman) Simons. Roy served in the United States Army during World War II. On April 24, 1954 he was united in marriage to Betty F. Gahr in Oshkosh. For the past 36 years, the couple made the Shawano area their home. Roy enjoyed golfing and was known "Mr. Fix It."
Roy is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Betty;
1 brother, Raymond Simons of Oshkosh;
and 1 sister-in-law, Betty Simons.
Roy was preceded in death by:
his parents;
and 2 brothers, Vernon and Lee.
Private family services were held. Cremation took place at the Lone Pine Crematory in Bonduel. Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel assisted the family with the arrangements.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Roy's caregivers, Shirley Hittman and Linda Campbell, for caring for Roy in the comforts of his own home. Also thanks to all the nurses and care givers at Shawano Community Hospice. We could not have done it without you.
