a. Note:   Beth Sumnicht-Overton, age 82, of Appleton, joyfully and peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and His Blessed Mother Mary at her home on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Beth was born in Neenah on January 30, 1934 to the late Charles and Ruby (Smith) Gambsky. She graduated from Menasha High School. Beth was a friend to anyone who needed her and was a creative and enthusiastic mentor to many friends and family. She taught the Dale Carnegy courses and enjoyed motivational speaking. Her positive attitude and unwavering faith, despite many challenges, inspired all those who knew her. In 1955, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Vernon Coffey. Vern passed away in 1960. In 1963 she was united in marriage to Francis Sumnicht. The couple enjoyed over 25 years together until his death in 1989. She then married Sam Overton in 1995, enjoying 19 years together until his passing in 2014. Francis and Beth were extremely active in the Republican Party and were founding members of The Appleton Historical Society. They worked for many years, and invested a great deal of time and treasure, to establish "CLIC", The Children's Learning Innovation Center, of Appleton, WI, to help children with learning challenges long before most educators understood these disabilities. Beth was a successful entrepreneur, business person and an avid investor. She was a founding investor in SMT, Surface Mount Technology. She founded and grew many of her own businesses, including an Amway business, Carla Jordan Jewelry, Herbal Life, Morinda Noni Juice and others. She cared deeply about her family, faith and community. She was very involved in her community and her beloved Catholic parish of St Pius X and she loved traveling the world. Beth led more than 15 groups on pilgrimages to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia. Beth and Francis were founding members of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Appleton and Beth belonged to the Monday Night Rosary Prayer Group for 25 years.
  She will be deeply missed by her four sons,
 and one daughter:
 Vern (Debbie) Sumnicht, Appleton, Chris (Renee) Sumnicht, Winneconne, Shawn (Melissa) Sumnicht, Appleton, and Eric (Monica) Sumnicht, Menasha; and her Heidi (Kevin) Buhler, Greenville;
 13 grandchildren: Michaela and Joshua Sumnicht, Jenee (Jeff) Wohlrabe, Jennifer (Adam) Baker, Kaitlin Sumnicht, Beth (Ken) Sumnicht-Kempen, James Bieritz, Benjamin and Ellianna Sumnicht, Josh Groom, Jeannette Olson, and Abby and Jake Buhler;
 19 great grandchildren;
 and a sister-in-law Shorty Gambsky, Menasha.
 She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
  She was preceded by her three husbands,
 parents,
 daughter Nance Sumnicht,
 granddaughter Corrinne Bieritz,
 2 sisters: Joy and Katherine;
 and 3 brothers: Charles, Kenny, and Faye.
  A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Tuesday, March 8, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton. Friends and relatives may visit from 4 to 8 pm on Monday at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel, and directly at the church on Tuesday from 9 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at St Margaret-Mary Catholic Cemetery, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
