In addition, Henry II's ancestry included Fulk V who was the King of the Christian Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem and Matilda, Holy Roman Empress. Henry II married and had children with Eleanor, Duchess of Aquitaine from the House of Poitiers who was a descendant of Charlemagne, Holy Roman Emperor. During her time in the High Middle Ages, Eleanor was perhaps the most attractive heiress in the world due to her remarkably exceptional beauty and her vast land holdings including the French province of Aquitaine, which was the richest of all European provinces. She was also the wife of two kings. Before she was married to King Henry II of England, she was married to King Louis VII of France, a member of the House of Capet, who she later divorced to marry Henry II. In other words before she was Queen of England, she was the Queen of France.
