Notes
a. Note:   From Robert Davis at [email protected]:
MARY O. DAVIS b. 1848 to JAMES DAVIS b.1818 and AMANDA MALLOTT b.1821. They lived in Green twsp. Brown Co. I do know we are related to PITZERS. Could your MARY OLIVE DAVIS be my MARY O. She had sisters: Merida and Hanna. Brothers:Theadore, Alva, Harrison and Thomas my g.father...We believe MARY O. DAVIS to be your MARY OLIVE PITZER... JAMES and AMANDA lived in Green twsp.,Brown Co.,OH They lived 3 miles N. Mt. Orab on US68 in the small village of Greenbush. In 1886 the James Davis family donated Land and along with the Minnic family , the timber to erect the Union Plains E.U.B. Church. A new brick parsonage just north of the church was completed in 1967. The original structure still stands with three Sunday School rooms added in the back. James and Amanda along with their son Alva are bu. at Bloomrose cementry near Greenbush just behind a small church located there. The IGI records which are reached with LDS geneology lists a Theodore Pitzer b.March 28 1889 Brown Co. to JOHN A.PITZER and MARY OLIVE?. THEODORE being MARYS oldest brother leads us to believe this is the correct person. Theodore, Harrison and Thomas are all burried in Mt. Orab cementry. Their graves are close together near the front.
According to the 1880 Census, James C Davis' father was born in Maine, his mother in New Jersey.

James Crawford Davis, born 13 Jul 1818, OH., d. 04 Mar 1889, Bur: Bloomrose Cemetery, Brown Co. OH. They had 7 children. "Theodore Jr. born 06 Dec 1793 Washington Co. MD., d. 11 Feb 1857 OH, is the son of Theodore and Ann (Lane) Malott, he married Hannah Waits, on 29 Oct 1818 in Brown Co. OH., daughter of Charles and Catherine (Hickman) Waits, she was born ca 1797 KY, d. 20 Oct 1856 Brown Co. OH. Bur: Bloomrose Cemetery."
From Robert Davis at <[email protected]>:
"According to James Crawford Davis' grandson (John Davis, my father) there were seven brothers that came to Brown County from Virginia. Several moved on to Indiana trading cattle for land believed to be in the Indianapolis area. James stayed in Brown Co."
Elizabeth N Davis is buried in the same cemetery as the James Crawford Davis family. Her gravestone says she was the "daughter of J and N," and her birthdate is about four years later than that of James. It is possible they were brother and sister, and that their father's name was James.
  From RootsWeb WorldConnect Project:
"Rumored to be a descendant of Jefferson Davis.
Rumored to have been run out of KY for biting a man's ear off."
