Notes
a. Note:   In the 1810 Federal Census, the Charles Whiting household in Stamford, Fairfield Co, Connecticut included one male age 45 or older, one female age 45 or older and one female age 10-15. This is most likely the household of Charles W and Mary Kellogg Whiting. If so, it indicates that their son Frederick Whiting was no longer living with his parents. There is no Frederick Whiting listed as head of household for anywhere in Connecticut (The only Frederick Whiting in the index for the 1810 census is in Minisink, Orange Co, New York. It is possible that Frederick Whiting was living in New Jersey at this time, but the 1810 census records for New Jersey have not survived.).
The 1820 census for Wayne Twp, Clermont Co, OH has a Frederick Whitney household with one male age 26-45, one female age 26-45, one female age 10-14 and one female under 10. This may be the same person as Frederick Whiting. There are no Whiting households listed in Wayne Township or elsewhere in Clermont County.
From "History of Clermont County, Ohio," 1880, pg 504:
"It is thought that Frederic Whiting settled on the farm now owned in part by William Roudebush in 1811. He was a native of New Jersey, and had four sons and two daughters."
