Note: 26 Jun 98 Nancy Ann Harris could also be the daughter of William Harris of New Jersey. From History of Ross and Highland Counties, Ohio, pg. 504: "In 1815, William Harris, a native of New Jersey, settled in the present site (in part) of Edenton. He had emigrated to Kentucky in 1788, where he married Sarah Rich, by whom he had six children, -- John, Otho, William, Eizabeth, Nancy, and Sarah, -- all of whom lived to raise families." Buried in Jordan Cemetery, Clermont Co. 14 Oct 98 From Cyndi Saxton Jorae, <[email protected]> "Nancy Ann Harris, daughter of Abner, was born 24 NOV 1795. Her mother Sarah (?) was born in Kentucky. "Abner and William were brothers and the sons of John Harris and Patty (?). John and Patty moved from NJ (possibly Sussex Co.) to Madison Co., KY by 1789 (first census). He was still there in 1800 cen. and moved to land in the VA Military District which he had in 1801 for the tax list. According to the Clermont County History, he first settled on an island called Plainville, in the Miami river, but had to move after flooding. He was in Clermont County for the 1810 tax and in the shiloh area of Goshen Twp. by 1814. In 1820, he is in Wayne Twp. for the census, just he and his wife, so it appears he moved to Wayne Twp. as did son William." AFN: BPGZ-2K |
