  In the name of the Benevolant Father of all I, Isaac Reedy of the County of Highland and State of Ohio, being of sound and diposing mind, do now make and publish this my last will and testament.
  Item 1st I direct that my Executor shall pay my just debts, expenses of last sickness, funeral expenses, and expenses of administration out of the money on hand or due me at my death, and if not sufficient then that he shall sell such portion of my personal property as shall be sufficient to pay such debts and expenses.
  Item 2nd I direct that my wife Mary A. Reedy, should she survive me, shall have possession and the use and income of the remainder of my personal property, after paying said debts and expenses, and all my real estate during her natural life, and that such possession and use and income shall be in place of a years' support, and in place of her distributive share of my personal estate, and in place of all other statutory allowances for her.
  Item 3rd I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter Mary E. Roades, at the death of my wife, the Twenty-five acres more or less of land lying on the east side of a roadway belonging to S. S. Storer and on the South side of the New Market road, and I direct that she shall pay to my son Samuel S. Reedy the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars and that said sum shall be a charge upon said land.
  Item 4th I give, devise and bequeath to my son Samuel S. Reedy, at the death of my wife the Ten acres, more or less of land lying on the West side of the aforesaid roadway belonging to S. S. Storer and joining Henry Coffman's premises.
  Item 5th I bequeath the remainder of my personal property at the death of my wife, equally to my three children Mary E. Roades, Samuel S. Reedy and Geo. W. Reedy and I direct that said personal property shall be divided by and between themselves in such manner and way as they may deem just and best without sale or appraisement.
  Item 6th I hereby nominate and appoint my son Geo. W. Reedy as Executor of my estate and I direct that he shall act as such without giving bond. Witness my hand and seal this third day of August A.D. 1894.

  Whereas Isaac Reedy of Buford, Ohio, on the 3rd day of August in the year 1894 made my last will and testament of that day, do hereby declare the following to be a codicil to the same.
  I do hereby give devise and bequeath to my son George W. Reedy the following described Real Estate situate in Clay Township, County of Highland, and State of Ohio, and Being a part of McCormick's Survey No. 12125 and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at a stone at the north west corner of the Moberly's heirs land, thence with one of the the lines of said Moberlys heirs land S. 7 [degrees] E. 47 poles to a stone in the New Market Road thence W. with the New Market Road 68 poles to a stone in said road and in the East line of S. S. Reedy, thence with Reedy's said line N. 9 [degrees] W. 38 poles to a stone in the south side of the State Road running through Buford and Hillsboro and N. E. corner to S. S. Reedy, thence in said State Road N. 46 ¾ [degrees] E. 21 poles to a point in said Road, thence with a road running north from said Isaac Reedy's residence N. 7 ¾ [degrees} W. 35 ½ poles to the N. E. corner of G. W. Reedy's 5 acres tract of land, thence N. 82 [degrees] E. 49 4/60 poles to the place of beginning containing Thirty-seven acres of land more or less. The said above described Real estate shall not vest in the said George W. Reedy during my life time and if my wife Mary Reedy should survive me then the said described premises or real estate shall not vest in the said George W. Reedy until her death. Then it shall go and vest in the said George W. Reedy and his heirs forever.
  In testimony hereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of Mar. in the year 1898.

  In the census of 1820, the only Reedy listed in Ohio, other than three related households in Ross County, was a William Reedy in Concord Twp, Highland County. He may have been the father or an uncle of Isaac Reedy, who would have been two years old at this time.
